Middle School Teacher (French)

We are currently seeking a dedicated and inspiring French Teacher to join our Middle School team for 2027.

As a Middle School French Teacher, you will inspire students to develop their language skills and appreciation of French culture while supporting them through this important stage of their academic, social and emotional development. Working within a collaborative and well-resourced learning environment, you will deliver engaging and differentiated learning experiences, foster student wellbeing and contribute to a positive and inclusive school community.

This is a part-time (4 days per week) 2027 fixed-term contract.

Key Responsibilities

Curriculum

  • Plan and deliver engaging French language lessons aligned with the school鈥檚 curriculum.
  • Differentiate instruction to cater for a range of abilities, backgrounds and learning styles.
  • Design effective assessment tasks and provide timely, constructive feedback.
  • Integrate technology meaningfully to support learning.
  • Monitor progress and maintain positive communication with students and parents.

Professional Standards

  • Engage in ongoing professional learning and collaborative practice.
  • Participate in staff meetings and contribute to the wider school community.

Classroom Management

  • Foster a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment.
  • Support student engagement, wellbeing and positive behaviour.

Pastoral Care & Student Wellbeing

  • Build positive, respectful relationships with students that promote trust and personal growth.
  • Take responsibility for students' welfare both in and outside the classroom.
  • Support student behaviour through fair consistent strategies.
  • Engage with families, pastoral staff and learning support professionals to support each learner holistically.
Our Ideal Candidate
  • Queensland College of Teachers registration.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificate.
  • Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card QLD).
  • Graduate qualifications in Education (Language specialisation).
  • Ability to teach to, and reverse plan from, the Australian Curriculum for relevant subject/s.
